Minis Take Bucks County in Honor of Mike Monaco
Minis Takes Bucks County (MTBC) was started on a whim by Elmer Bean. Elmer was looking to put together an event to bring the Mini Cooper drivers together. Elmer also wanted to test the power of social media. This all started in 2015.
The first year we had 97 cars participate. This type of rally was unheard of. It was that day when we decided to run the event every year for charity.
The first two years were for Wounded Warriors, the next two years were for No Kid Hungry. Last year, while doing a pre-run, Elmer’s brother called him to let him know that his sister-in-law had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Our charity last year was Susan G. Komen, we raised over $5000.
This year one of our Mini brothers has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. For this reason, Purple Pansies is our charity of choice for 2021.
